This is probably one of the best hotel we've stayed in Japan - in terms of location, ambience, comfort and overall presentation. Stayed here for 9 nights while visiting family in Okinawa, time simply flew! Hired a car from Naha and drove all the way, it took just over an hour to get there. Lots of parking spaces available (you need to get a card from the machine and validated by the concierge for the length of your stay). We liked the Spanish villa-style architecture. It was subtly elegant and opulent without being garish. My husband and I loved the long corridors with muted lighting reminiscent of Spanish convents, so beautiful! All the public spaces had this lovely and pleasant smell of white gardenia (bought some air freshener from the hotel shop to remember our time here). Our room was on the 8th floor, lots of lifts available, no waiting. Our room was perfect - quiet, spacious and well-furnished, quality bathroom amenities and oh so comfy bed. The balcony view over the reef and ocean was sublime. I must have taken hundreds of photos of the view at all times of the day, even during an early morning thunderstorm (the lightning made it look out of this world!). The hotel's prime seaside location is perfect. They have a privately managed beach, soooo clean, lots of chairs and umbrellas, and well-staffed. Even in the midst of Golden Week, it never felt too crowded. You can just literally step out of the hotel and snorkel or swim over the clearest, bluest waters around. And don't get me started about the fishes, oh wow! Also kudos to all the hotel staff, especially those working in the lobby, they are all so friendly and super helpful. Don't get disheartened by the language barrier, a quick tap on Google translate solves everything! By the way, make sure you try the buffet dinner at Hana Hana at least once and the breakfast at Verdemar - all good value and delicious! We're definitely coming back to stay here with family in the future.

I’ve traveled all over the world for maybe 40 years now, and this is my favorite hotel of all time. The place is beautiful and the staff are all friendly - from the door people to restaurant servers and maids. Food was exceptional. Rooms were gorgeously appointed with tons of space (we had a corner room). The massages were wonderful ( though, surprisingly, clothed). The details were great - like laundry machines, and bathing suit spinners. The gardens and pools were beautiful, as was the architecture. The shops were pretty with helpful cashiers. And by all means try the bath herbs “teabag” they give you. So relaxing. The views from the rooms, pools, restaurants and lobby are wonderful too. Think teal water, fairytale wedding chapels, seascapes and more. A few things to know. There’s no way to walk to another restaurant, so plan for your meals at the hotel if you don’t have a car. Breakfast is extremely expensive at Verdemar, but it is a magnificent, large, varied and professional spread. It was included with our room. I highly recommend daily breakfast here (we were here for over a week). One thing I don’t really recommend: this is not part of the hotel, but right down the road is an outfit that takes you out on horseback. If you ride, you won’t want to bother. They walk you around on foot. They stop constantly for pictures and to let the horses graze. They insist on reigns being so long you can’t possibly use them. On the very expensive one hour ride, they walk along the hotel’s driveway. And you can’t do anything but walk dry slowly. Think pony rides for little kids. But everything else was magical. Try kayaking and snorkeling and the castle ruins park and American Village. And Blue Seal ice cream. We had great food all over the island. Anyhow, if you’re on Okinawa, Nikko Alivila is definitely the place to stay. I can’t recommend this hotel more highly!!!!

Our family had an amazing stay! The hotel is beautiful and elegant, with the most polite and helpful staff we've met in Japan. The room was spacious, airy, and nicely decorated. We loved the traditional Japanese-style bathroom with a large soaking tub — perfect for relaxing. The hotel has two big pools: one outdoor and one indoor (the indoor one requires an extra fee). The restaurants on-site were excellent. The beach is a real highlight, with a netted safe-swimming area — important in this region due to stonefish and other venomous sea life. The water is crystal clear, and the sand is soft and fine. The hotel provides towels, chairs, and umbrellas for guests. There's a large, convenient parking area close to the entrance. A laundry room with washing machines is available for just 100 yen. Overall, this hotel exceeded our expectations, and we highly recommend it to families and anyone seeking a relaxing and comfortable stay in Japan.

This hotel is amazing. The room was enormous, with balcony and the bathroom had a HUGE shower and a bathtub. Breakfast was included in the price and I have never seen such a huge selection of Japanese and international food. The pool area is massive and clean (towels are provided) and the gardens are beautiful and well maintained. The absolute highlight was the beach, right in front of the hotel, with loungers and umbrellas. As many have already written, the hotel is quite remote. This adds to the beauty of its location but means that, if you don't want to eat in the hotel restaurants, there are really only a pizza restaurant and a burger place within walking distance. If you have a car (we did) there are loads of fabulous Okinawan restaurants a couple of kilometers away. I would highly recommend this hotel for absolute relaxation in a luxurious environment.

Our stay at this hotel was absolutely fantastic! The room was incredibly spacious, with very comfortable beds and an amazing bathroom that even included a luxurious bathing area. The beach, pool, and entire surroundings exceeded our expectations, and we are already planning to return. We also enjoyed a relaxing massage, which was perfectly executed and left us completely satisfied. A great bonus was the nearby Banta café, along with a few other delightful spots like Caprice Bar for beer, Sanpuku Chabo with excellent tea and desserts, and a wonderful soba restaurant. We had an unforgettable time and would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a perfect getaway.
